This is a packet of 80 grams of ready to use premixed agar. This produces 4 500ml batches of agar.

This agar contains potato dextrose, yeast extract, and agar powder, mixed at an appropriate ratio to produce clear semi solid gelled water perfect for cultivating mushroom mycelium.
To use combine 20 grams of powder with 500ml of water in a vessel designed for sterilization (we recommend a Pyrex media bottle), sterilize at 15psi for 20 minutes, allow to cool to 120°, then pour following appropriate aseptic technique. One vessel of 500ml will pour about 20 agar plates.
This is the same recipe we use for our own premade plates that we sell (and use). This powder does not include any coloring and will come out slightly orange/yellow after cooking. To add color add any water based food coloring.
